Traditionally, police officers responded to crimes after they had already been committed.  The Oldham County Police Department is attempting to prevent them before they occur.  But the responsibility can't fall solely on the shoulders of the police department.  We need everyone in the community to take an active role in educating themselves on how to prevent crime, and that's why this page was created.

Inside you will find safety tips ranging from protecting your valuables to saving your life. There are simple suggestions and rules to guide you in protecting your home, automobile, and personal safety. We have also included ideas on how to avoid certain situations and what actions to take should you become a victim.

With our new mission, and the help of the community, we hope to combat crime on an unprecedented scale.
