OLDHAM COUNTY POLICE PRESS RELEASE
Theft of a Controlled Substance from Centerfield Elementary
On November 9, 2011 the Oldham County Police responded to Centerfield Elementary in reference to a student's medication being stolen from the school's medicine cabinet/safe.
Upon investigation, it was discovered 10 Dexmethylphenidate pills from a juvenile student's prescription bottle were missing and had been replaced with a different unknown medication. The school employee which had access to the medication was identified as Shelly M. Settle. Mrs. Settle admitted stealing the pills and further stated she replaced the prescription pills with "baby aspirin".
The Oldham County Police charged Mrs. Settle with Theft of a Controlled Substance and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
