On Tuesday May 9, 2006, at approximately 5:30 PM Oldham County Police received a call from a female stating that her soon to be ex-husband had threatened her boyfriend.  The female caller requested Oldham County Police check her boyfriend's residence due to the fact that she was unable to make contact with him.  Officers arrived at 1104 Wiano Circle and received no response from anyone within the residence.  Officers located a side door that was unsecured and made entry.  Once inside, officers located a white male deceased in the hallway from an apparent gun shot wound.  Police have identified the victim as the resident, James Shuttler III, 35.  A short time after Oldham County Police arrived at the residence they were notified by Floyd County Indiana Police of a separate, possibly connected, shooting that took place within their jurisdiction.  Oldham County detectives responded to the scene in Indiana to gather additional evidence.   

Based on the investigation Oldham County Police are seeking a warrant for Edward R Stoess, 35, of New Albany for the murder of James Shuttler III.  Mr. Stoess is currently in custody in Floyd County Indiana. Oldham County Police continue to investigate this homicide and are working in conjunction with Floyd County Indiana.  Police ask anyone with information on this case to contact them at (502) 222-1300.
