On Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at approximately 1:20 PM Oldham County Police were dispatched to a injury traffic collision on KY 146 and West Kilgus Circle. The collision involved a Plymouth Neon traveling westbound and a Brinks armored vehicle traveling eastbound on KY 146. Preliminary investigation indicated that the Neon left the north shoulder of the roadway, over corrected and then began traveling sideways prior to striking the Brinks vehicle. Two passengers, Jesus Tarango, 26 years of age and Omar Lopex, 17 years of age, both of the 3900 block of Accomack Drive in Louisville, Kentucky, in the Neon were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Neon, Juan Patlan, 16 years of age, of the 7800 block of Sundance Drive, Louisville, Kentucky, was transported to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Currently Patlan remains at University Hospital in stable condition. The rear passenger of the Brinks vehicle was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
