Oldham County Police
have arrested four people in connection
with a slew of church burglaries in four
counties.
Trent Carr, 19, of
Crestwood, Cameron Kinser, 18, of Pewee
Valley; ; and Jefferson County residents
Jennifer Downey, 20, and Derek Music,
19, have been charged with seven counts
of burglary.
Five churches and one home in Oldham
County and one church in Jefferson
County were broken into in November and
December. More than $100,000 in
goods, including computers, a clarinet
and a diamond ring have been recovered
during the investigation.
Oldham County Police Detective Richard
Harned said the four were identified
while police reviewed traffic stops
during the night of one of the
burglaries in La Grange, when a police
officer had stopped the car they were
riding in.
Louisville Metro Police also received a
tip that one suspect had bragged about
getting pulled over after a burglary but
not getting caught.
The four have been charged of stealing
from AME Zion Church in Louisville,
Pewee Valley Baptist, Crestwood Baptist,
Mount Tabor United Methodist in
Centerfield, Pewee Valley Salem Assembly
of God and South Oldham Church of the
Nazarene in Oldham County.
Carr, Downey, Kinser and Music have each
been indicted in Oldham County for five
counts of burglary third and one count
of burglary second.
Music and Downey have been charged in
Jefferson County on charges of receiving
stolen property and receiving a stolen
firearm. Music and Carr will be
charged with two additional counts of
burglary related to break-ins at Sligo
Baptist Church in Henry County and
Bedford Baptist Church in Trimble
County.
