OLDHAM COUNTY POLICE CHIEF GRIFFIN RECOGNIZED BY CHALLENGERS Challengers of Oldham County have recognized Oldham County Police Department Chief Michael Griffin as their Coalition Champion of the Year for 2006. Challengers focus specifically on substance abuse prevention. Challengers work through a volunteer Board and an all-volunteer community Coalition. Local residents work closely with city and county governments, local businesses, parents, civic groups, law enforcement, social services, healthcare workers, churches, and schools. Debbie Lorence, the Director of Challengers, stated that Chief Griffin and his department consistently steps forward to assist in fulfilling the Challengers mission of service to Oldham County. “I humbly accept this award on behalf of the entire Oldham County Police Department,” stated Chief Griffin. “Our department motto is, Serving our county…today…tomorrow…forever. Working with the magnificent volunteers who make up Challengers is in keeping with our motto and it’s an honor for me and our department to stand with them in dedicated service to Oldham County.”
