Over the past several weeks Oldham County has experienced an increased amount of graffiti vandalism. In an effort to attack this problem the Oldham County Police increased it patrol efforts to resolve this issue. On Sunday, March 30, 2008, at approximately 21:30 hours, Oldham County Police observed two white males spray painting graffiti on the back side of the building located on the 4800 block Old LaGrange Road. Police apprehended two suspects without incident. Additional graffiti was also found on one of the sides of the building. The two males were identified as Ryan Williams, age 19; of 2100 block of Outer Circle Drive, Crestwood, and Brandon Meredith, age18, of 5200 block Arrowshire Drive, Buckner. Williams was questioned regarding the recent graffiti and damage to the structures located at Peggy Baker Park located off Abbott Lane in Crestwood and has made statements linking himself to the criminal mischief at that location. According to Williams he had spray painted and damaged the buildings on two or three occasions. Meredith stated that he was present with Williams when the vandalism occurred at the Peggy Baker Park, but never participated. Both Williams and Meredith were arrested and charged with two counts each of Criminal Mischief 1st Degree (Class D Felony) and one count each of Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree (Violation). Both were lodged in the Oldham County Jail. |
