OLDHAM COUNTY POLICE

Press Release


On 12-16-08 at approximately 4:29 pm Oldham County Police stopped a passenger car on Kentucky 22 and Lake Louisvilla Drive fro a traffic violation.  A search of the vehicle revealed numerous syringes and plastic baggies containing suspected Methamphetamine and/or residue. 

Arrested were:  

Stephen T. Winn, age 26, of the 1100 Block of East Broadway in Louisville was charged with: 

1) Operating on a Suspended/Revoked Operator's License
2) Failure of non-owner, operator to maintain required insurance
3) Giving Officer False Name or Address
4) Careless Driving
5) Prescription Controlled Substance not in Proper Container

Winn also had outstanding warrants from Jefferson County for Forgery of a Prescription and Obtaining/Attempting to obtain a Controlled Substance by Fraud.

Brandye Curtis, age 27, of the 200 block of Southgate Drive in Shelbyville, admitted to be in possession of methamphetamine and prescription pill medication. 

Curtis has been charged with:

1) Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)
2) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
3) Prescription Controlled Substance not in proper container. 

The Kentucky State Police responded to evaluate the unknown chemical source located inside of the metal container.  The Kentucky State Police have removed the container for lab analysis.     

Additional Remarks:  During the search of the vehicle an Oldham County Police Officer was exposed to an unknown chemical inside of a metal container located inside the vehicle.  The Officer was treated and later released from Baptist Hospital Northeast from this exposure and returned to duty.
