Dispute Results in Gun Shots Fired

On September 09, 2009 at approximately 01:15 AM Oldham County Police responded to a residence in the 12000 block of Wayside Lane in Goshen Kentucky to an altercation or dispute that resulted in gun shots being fired.  A dispute between the resident(s) and a person later identified as Carl E. Ernspiker II, age 26, from Simpsonville Kentucky, resulted in gun shots being fired.  While responding to the scene, an Oldham County Police Officer located a vehicle which had fled the scene of the dispute.  The vehicle operator, Carl E. Ernspiker II, drove the vehicle into a ditch near the 13000 Block of US 42 and fled on foot from the Officer attempting to stop him.  A thorough search of the area by the Oldham County Police K9 located Carl Ernspiker II hiding near a wooded area, south of US 42 at approximately 02:05 AM.   Carl Ernspiker II refused to comply with Officers' verbal commands and the Taser was deployed to safely effect his arrest. 

Carl Ernspiker II was arrested and charged with:

Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree

Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol 2nd Offense

Operating on a Suspended or Revoked Operator's License

Resisting Arrest

No involved persons were injured as a result of the gun shots fired in the dispute. 

Currently no persons were arrested for the gun shots being fired in the dispute and the case remains under investigation by the Oldham County Police Criminal Investigative Division.
