September 2010 Oldham County Police requested assistance from the public in which a red Dodge Ram 4X4 pick-up with an extended cab and a Kentucky registration farm plate were approaching cyclists head-on causing them to swerve to avoid being struck by the vehicle. Additionally, cyclists reported to police that the vehicle and driver approached the cyclists from behind, passed the bike and then slammed on the brakes, stopping short and nearly causing cyclists to slam into the back of the truck and it would blow black smoke from it. Tuesday, November 9, 2010, after a two month investigation Oldham County Police have charged Robert James Wagner, 22 years, of the 4700 US 42 Bedford, Kentucky in Trimble County for Wanton Endangerment 2nd Degree for his involvement in running bicyclist off of the roadway in Oldham County shortly after the Ironman event. In a statement to police Wagner admits to committing the offense.
