OLDHAM COUNTY POLICE PRESS RELEASE


Recovery of Stolen Merchandise
 
Oldham County Police stopped a vehicle for a moving violation on I71 South, at the 17 mile marker.  The driver was identified as Derike Peterson, 39 years of age, of the 1400 block of Cory Drive, Dayton Ohio.  Police found a stolen 9mm pistol under the drivers seat.  Further investigation found what is believed to be 10,000 dollars in stolen merchandise, from different unknown retail stores.  Derike Peterson was charged with multiple traffic violations, Carrying a concealed weapon, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Receiving stolen property (firearm), and Receiving stolen property 10,000 dollars or more.  The passenger who was identified as Lisa Trammell of Dayton Ohio, was subsequently charged with Possession of open alcohol container in a motor vehicle and Receiving stolen property 10,000 dollars or more.  Both suspects are in custody at the Oldham County Jail.
