OLDHAM COUNTY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO POSSESSION OF FIREARM WHILE UNDER A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ORDER David L. Huber, United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, announced today that Michael G. Buck, age 44, of LaGrange, Kentucky, pled guilty on July 25, 2005, to possession of a firearm while he was subject to a previously entered Domestic Violence Order. The maximum potential penalties are 10 years imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and 3 years supervised release. Buck admitted that he knowingly possessed a Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol in Oldham County, on December 30, 2004, when he was subject to a Domestic Violence Order issued in Jefferson County, Kentucky, on or about August 13, 2004. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas W. Dyke, and it was investigated by teh Oldham County Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The plea was entered before James D. Moyer, Magistrate Judge, United States District Court, Louisville, Kentucky. Buck is scheduled to be sentenced before United States District Judge Thomas B. Russell on October 20, 2005, at 12:00 noon in Louisville, Kentucky. |
