MULTIPLE ARRESTS FOLLOWING OLDHAM COUNTY POLICE DRUG INVESTIGATIONS

On Monday, June 8, 2009, 11 individuals were arrested on Oldham County Grand Jury Indictment Warrants the result of drug investigations by the Oldham County Police Department.   Multiple investigations were initiated in August of 2008 in response to information provided by the public and information developed by the Oldham County Police Department related to the drug trafficking of prescription medications, which prescription type narcotics have been identified as a predominate drug of abuse in our area. 

A total of twenty three criminal charges have been obtained on sixteen individuals as a result of this series of investigations, charges include:

8 - Trafficking In Controlled Substance 1^st Degree, Class C/Felony

6 – Trafficking In Controlled Substance 2^nd Degree, Class D/Felony

5 – Trafficking In Controlled Substance with 1000 yards of a School

       Class D/Felony

3 – Selling/Transfer of a Simulated Substance, Class A/Misdemeanor

1 – Persistent Felony Offender 1^st

Drug types purchased in these undercover operations included Oxycontin, Hydrocodone, Morphine, Methadone, Fentanyl and Alprazolam.

Officers from the Oldham County Police Department and LaGrange Police Department began taking individuals into custody in the early morning hours of today.  Additional charges of Cultivating Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Trafficking in Marijuana were placed on one suspect (Chris Chesser) when officers discovered marijuana plants and paraphernalia during the course of his arrest.  Five additional suspects are being sought that were not located at the time of the arrest effort this morning.
