OLDHAM COUNTY POLICE PRESS RELEASE

Enforcement Award

Tuesday, April 20, 2010 Chuck Geveden, Executive Director of the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety presented the Oldham County Police Department the "4 E's Highway Safety Enforcement Award" for the state of Kentucky.  Geneden said, "Oldham County has maintained a strong highway safety program for over 15 years.  The department has continued to provide matching funds for the majority of these years because of their strong commitment to save lives and reduce injuries in their community".  The "4 E awards" were presented to Engineering, Education, Enforcement and Emergency Services.

The department maintains a section on their web site dedicated to traffic safety, which indicates targeted enforcement through saturation patrols and traffic safety checkpoints to keep the citizens aware of problem locations.

The department has led regional efforts by partnering with the LaGrange Police Department and serving as the administrating agency for highway safety projects, said Geveden.

We value our partnership with the Oldham County Police Department and thank them for their continued dedication and commitment to highway safety, said Geveden.

Accepting the award on behalf of the Oldham County Police Department was the assistant chief of police, Lieutenant Colonel Billy Way.  Pictured from left to right is Bob Douglas, Highway Safety Lesion, Billy Way, and Chuck Geveden.
