OLDHAM COUNTY POLICE INVESTIGATE DEATH OF INFANT

Oldham County Police are investigating the death of an infant child.  On March 17, 2006, at approximately 5:30 PM, Oldham County Central Dispatch received a 911 call from a residence in the 6300 block of Park Road.  The caller stated that a 4 month old infant at the residence was not breathing.  Oldham County EMS was dispatched to the residence.  The infant was transported by ambulance to Baptist Hospital Northeast and later moved to Kosair’s Children’s Hospital.  Doctors at Kosair’s Children’s Hospital advised police that the infant had severe swelling around the brain, bruising around the stomach and face area.  They also stated the injuries were not consistent with the father’s account of what had occurred.  As a result, the infant’s father, William R. Whitehouse III, 20 years of age, was arrested by Oldham County Police and charged with Endangering the welfare of a minor, Assault 1st degree, and Wanton Endangerment 1st degree.  Whitehouse is currently lodged at the Oldham County Jail with a $25,000 full cash bond.

On March 18, 2006, the infant passed away at Kosair’s Children’s Hospital.  Oldham County Police are still investigating the case, and additional charges are likely.
