The Oldham County Police Department has recognized John Luken for his unparalleled support of that department and the citizens of Oldham County.  Mr. Luken, a long time resident of Oldham County, has served as a Merit Board Representative for the department for six years.  During Mr. Luken’s term on the Merit Board he served as Vice-chairman and twice as Chairman. 

On behalf of the grateful sworn personnel of the Oldham County Police Department, Chief Michael Griffin presented John Luken with “The Spirit of the Duke” Award, a Western Frontier Bowie knife manufactured by Colt firearms. 

Mr. Luken was replaced by Ed Wegenast, a retired Louisville Police Officer.
