TWO NEW POLICE MERIT BOARD MEMBERS APPOINTED BY JUDGE KINSER

On Tuesday, 9/14/04, two new Oldham County Police Department Merit Board members were sworn in by Oldham County Judge-Executive Mary Ellen Kinser.  The two members are Reverend WAYNE SHEMWELL and Colonel RODNEY BREWER.

Although a relative newcomer to Oldham County, WAYNE SHEMWELL, the pastor at LaGrange First Baptist Church, is already active in his community in a leadership role with the Community Resource Team and will be a valuable addition to the Merit Board.

RODNEY BREWER has recently retired from the Kentucky State Police after a distinguished 26-year career.  Just prior to his retirement, he held the position of Deputy Commissioner for the Kentucky State Police with the rank of Colonel.  His vast experience with community oriented policing and administration will be invaluable in his role on the Merit Board.

“I am proud of both these appointments,” stated Judge Kinser, “as these two fine men will draw on their professional and life’s experiences to the benefit of the Oldham County Police Merit Board and the citizens of our wonderful county.”
