OLDHAM COUNTY POLICE PRESS RELEASE

Special Response Team Activated

Thursday, August 12, 2010, at approximately 8:30pm, Lagrange Police Department received information of a domestic violence incident in the 500 block of Wood Springs Drive.  Lagrange Police Department assisted the victim of the residence in obtaining an Emergency Protective Order (EPO) and Mental Inquest Warrant (MIW).  LaGrange Police and the Oldham County Sheriffs Office attempted to execute the MIW and the EPO on Grayson R. Meers, age 44, of the 500 block of Wood Springs Drive.  After officers were unable to make contact with Meers and the Oldham County Special Response Team was activated due to the high risk nature of the accused possibly possessing a large volume of weapons, and mental stability of Meers.  Additionally, there was also a young child in the residence.  Meers was taken into custody without incident by the Special Response Team.  The young child was found to be unharmed and asleep in the residence and returned to the mother.  Meers was transported to the University of Louisville hospital for evaluation.

Police ask anyone with information about this incident, or any other crime to contact them at (502) 225-0444.
