Peddler Information
Ord. KOC 09-440-799 regulates door to door marketing of goods and services in Oldham County. To protect the public from questionable organizations or individuals, illegitimate products, or sales with no intent to deliver; an ordinance was passed requiring peddlers to seek licenses, undergo background checks, and peddle under certain limitations.
Application Form for Peddlers Permit - Please submit a completed application form and payment for all fees for each sales representative conducting door to door sales.
KSP Records Request Form - Applicants must submit a request for conviction records to the Kentucky State Police when applying for a permit. Permits will not be authorized until search results from the Kentucky Computerized Criminal History Repository are received. See KSP's website for more information.

- No license or permit is needed for sales representatives visiting businesses or persons with whom the representative's company already has an existing business relationship.
- It is not the intent of this ordinance to infringe on freedom of speech or require licensing for persons going door to door for political, religious, or other free speech related activities.
